Session 4 – Imparare una lingua in un contesto inclusivo – 9/10/2025 

L’insegnamento richiede la capacità di comprendere i bisogni specifici di ogni studente, costruendo un clima positivo e relazioni empatiche che favoriscano la motivazione e l’apprendimento. La gestione della classe dipende dal contesto fisico, personale e sociale, e dall’abilità del docente di valorizzare l’eterogeneità del gruppo attraverso il proprio stile e la propria esperienza.

I BiLS (Bisogni Linguistici Speciali) rientrano nei bisogni educativi speciali e riguardano difficoltà legate al linguaggio, alla comunicazione e all’apprendimento. In questa prospettiva, la progettazione universale e l’educazione linguistica ecologica inclusiva mirano a creare ambienti e strategie accessibili a tutti, capaci di promuovere una partecipazione autentica e un apprendimento linguistico equo per ogni studente.

Josh Williams was born in Perth, Australia and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Psychology from the University of Western Australia. He completed a CELTA teaching certificate at Milner College, Perth. Living in Naples since 2002, he has taught at private language schools, middle schools and high schools, preparing students for Trinity and Cambridge Exams as well as teaching literature and business English courses. Josh has worked with MLA since 2012 in various roles such as Director of Studies, Centre Manager, Academic Co-ordinator and Trinity Exam Co-ordinator and was part of the management team of 2021’s successful English Onboard programme on the MSC Grandiosa cruise ship. Recently he was Centre Manager for MLA Worcester (2022) and MLA Guildford (2023 & 2024). He has been MLA’s Academic Manager (Italy) since 2021.

Luke was born in Worcester, England and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE) in Philosophy. He then attained his Master’s Degree from the University of Birmingham, graduating in International Relations. In 2022 he completed a TEFL course, achieving a Distinction grade. He has taught at a language school in Guadalajara, Mexico conducting one-on-one classes and group classes and in Lisbon, Portugal teaching Business English, as well as students from around the world including Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Turkey and Kuwait. In the summer of 2023 Luke taught at three MLA summer centres. In January 2024 Luke joined the MLA Academic Team permanently as Academic Coordinator.
