Session 3: Using Games in the English Classroom

Games are an essential motivational tool for students of any age, in any school subject. While we all know that we have a lot to cover in our courses, games with a language focus can actually save us teachers a lot of time! They can substitute course book activities that require a lot of preparation from the teacher and what’s more, English-focused games and activities keep our students involved in their lessons and on their toes. What better way to introduce a topic or energise a weary class than introduce an element of competition and fun into the lesson? In this webinar we will be exploring “warmers” and other games that you can use in your lessons to motivate, engage and test. As always, we will look at many activities that may be incorporated into lessons, all of which will be compiled in a detailed handout including worksheets and links, which will be sent to all participants in the webinar.
